How to French Seam

This is part of a series of online tutorials that will form part of my patterns. I’m getting so excited about releasing my work as patterns and even more excited about getting some time to draft and create some of the ideas I have for others.

I have to confess that I own two overlockers and three sewing machines. It is a lot but I love them all for different reasons. My patterns will be designed for use with or without an overlocker with equally perfect results.

French seams are really easy and used when seams are visible or in places where the seam can irritate the skin. It is most popularly used when sewing with sheer fabrics such as chiffon or tulle. Click on the picture for details or you can download it here

I'm a great fan of the French seam. In fact, as soon as I finish my morning cup of coffee I'm off to French seam some little girls' skirts. See you at the BrisStyle Markets!
